Friendly reminder for both clients and suppliers
Friendly reminder for both clients and suppliers in the field of events and production.
In the light of recent events regarding low-balling clients and people asking services almost for free, here are my 2 cents.
Point 1: SAVE AND PREPARE
Everyone has milestones to celebrate! Birthdays, weddings and anniversaries to name a few. Sana we make it a point to save for these events since most of them happen ONCE IN OUR LIFETIME. If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Sana sa mga masisipag, mas sipagan pa natin by ALL LEGAL AND HONEST MEANS. This includes scouting for possible suppliers in a very early stage of your preps. Ang daming group now where you can compare products, rates and services. Be vigilant!
Point 2: QUALITY OF PRODUCT
Very common that we see "budget meal" or "lowest offer" on post here and there. Please bear in mind that PRICE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO QUALITY. Sa mas madaling sabi, the lower or the cheaper the product, the lesser quality we get. Although I am not generalizing. Others are just starting with the business kaya mababa ang bigay or offer. Eventually, mag tataas sila ng rate which is inevitable dahil sa inflation and because they have mouths to feed and JUDITHS to meet. (Sana ma gets mo) Clients should develop the talent for scouting suppliers na pasok sa budget nila without compromising the quality they want.

Point 3: RESPECT RATES AND BUDGETS
If these suppliers raise their fee, please respect it as much as we respect your budget allotted for your event. WE ARE DOING BUSINESS. Hanap buhay at hindi hanap patay. Just like all supplies and commodities, nag tataas po ito ng halaga. Hindi kami fishball na .50 cents lang since 19xx. For suppliers like me, sana maging makatarungan naman ang price natin at huwag managa ng kliyente. We need them just as they need us. Its a give and take relationship. Wag sana madamot parehas. I have had my fair share of "friends" asking me to host their events FOR FREE. We must learn how to decline them IN A NICE AND PROFESSIONAL WAY and say that again, just like them WE HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES that come EVERY MONTH. Just recently I read a post regarding clients asking to host and sing for their wedding FOR FREE. Eto na lang; damit, pamasahe, pagod, talent. LAHAT YAN INEEFORTAN NAMIN. Kung walang pambayad, dont force your so called 'friends' to work on your event saying you'll pay them with FREE MEAL and REFERRAL. WAG BURAOT BES!
Point 4: LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS
Most people today have developed something really bad towards social media. Instead of appreciating what we have and working on our budget, we tend to compare the event of others dun sa event natin. We should learn to be contented kung ano budget natin. If hndi kaya, WAG MAMBARAT O MAMBURAOT. Hindi naipapambayad ang SHOUTOUT sa palengke at lalong hindi sa MERALCO, PLDT ETC.
Point 5: SPONSORS/AID
Kung may mag aabot ng tulong, well and good. WAG ATAT. Inaabutan ka na ng kamay hihilahin mo pa?
To conclude, I hope we can learn something from other supplier's/client's experience. Let's try to avoid BAD PRACTICE as much as we can and perform our duties THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. In our field, malaking bagay ang REFERRAL BY WORD OF MOUTH. Let's keep our integrity intact and lets all work together to limit, even eliminate scammers from our business. Kawawa both clients and suppliers. For suppliers just like me, lets show our clients that we are worth every single cent of their hard-earned money. We live in a digital age. Good and bad karma will always find its way at a drop of a hat. Hope y'all learned something from this lengthy post.
Have an awesome day ahead and lets all be kind to one another!
Cheers!
